For New Years, we rented an AirBnB in the dessert near Joshua Tree National Park. Our rental had a hot tub and an amazing view of the stars. We hiked around Joshua Tree and also had fund scrambling through some canyons nearby. We stopped by Salton Sea, which is a salt lake that was created when the Colorado River was accidentally diverted to southern California for a time. It used to be a popular recreation lake, but has seen become an ecological challenge after the concentration of salt and chemicals got too high over time.
