A very long time ago, the area that is now Zion National Park was 3,000 foot sand dunes. Those dunes eventually turned into red sandstone cliffs that seem to glow in the sun. We did the famous Angel's Landing hike as well as a bunch of others to waterfalls or geologic structures. We were planning on doing the Narrows slot canyon hike, which is one of my favorite hikes in the world, bbut the water levels were too high, so it was closed.
