Death Valley deserves to be more famous than it is. The diversity of geology was amazing. Sand dunes, salt flats, so many different types of rocks in different structures. I met up with Matthew Bokach and went to the valley
directly north of Death Valley as well to see even larger sand dunes. On the bumpy dirt road to the dunes, we found a couple whose radiator hose had become detached and all of the coolant had drained out of their engine. We
helped them get the hose re-clamped and then I explained that they could use water instead of coolant as long as they didn't part the car anywhere that would get below freezing. Luckily that had a lot of water with them, so
after refilling their radiator, they were able to drive back to civilization. We were on our way out at that point, so we followed them to make sure they made it.
