Abel Tasman National Park is named after the western explorer who "discovered" New Zealand. It is most famous for its coastal trails and green-blue water. We took a water taxi to a place called Bark Bay and then walked 25km along the coast back to our hostel. It was a nice hike, but I have to say that it wasn't at all spectacular. Some people told me that it was because it wasn't a sunny day and that the water color stands out much better when the sun is shinning, but even so, I don't understand why it's so raved about. I talked to a guy from New Caldonia on the water taxi who told me that he'd been hiking for three days with his family and loved it so much that he was planning on returning to the park in the future.
