Trieste is a bigger city than I had imagined, but there wasn't much exciting to do there, so I didn't stay long. Chris and I hiked up a hill to an old castle that looks over the city. Then we decided to hike up to a nearby neighborhood on another hill and got totally turned around and ended up in a completely different part of the city.
Chris left at 4AM to catch his flight back home and I decided to leave that afternoon. Apparently the Italian train strike situation has been resolved, which is wonderful news.
