I thought my trip might end as it had started, with a canceled flight. Luckily, even though flights to Miami were canceled due to the tropical storm, ones to Orlando, where I had a short layover, went on as planned. Once I got to Orlando, I really thought about turning back. It was quite a shock to be around Americans again and the Orlando airport seemed to have an excess of obnoxious ones.

On my flight from Orlando to D.C., the plane had tv's in the backs of the seats and I was able to watch football for the first time in a very long time. Maybe being back in the U.S. isn't so bad after all. Three of my family members were waiting for me at the airport and we all went out for an excellent dinner with some of the amazing U.S. beer I've been missing for the last 15 months.
